"Stolen Innocence- A Silent Epidemic" Art Exhibition by artist Olasubomi Aka-Bashuron will have it's opening during the Downtown Nashville ArtCrawl Saturday Sept. 1, 2018 from 6pm to 9pm. This series dives deep into the exploited lives of homeless youth, the abuse, the corruption, and the hope of salvation through awareness, real help and healing by blending the paintings with his poetry-- weaving clear stories of the lives of these vulnerable children. This issue is at the forefront of today's societal problems and is still pushed under the rug until now. Please join us for a night of art, conversation, and the chance to imagine bright new futures for those who need it the most.
Complimenting this opening exhibit in our center room, Kim Barry will be continuing her public interactive installation, “The Dream Map” Project -- a public interactive conversation regarding the value of our personal dreams, hopes, & convictions vs. the power of the dollar. Since 2010, she has personally installed this work in the public spaces of Jacksonville, FL, Los Angeles, CA, and Pittsburgh, PA , documenting what dreams have been shared as it becomes a community study in where are our thoughts heading. Add your own two cents to this Nashville public interactive art installation and restart everything by dreaming again.Learn more at www.kimbarrystudio.com and Sam Welch will be displaying his most recent paintings in the front room.
